Visitors

We were kept very busy the month of February with visitors. (And of course we loved every bit of it!) We had so much fun with all our guests. First it was my Parents. Then Natalie and Ryan. And then Kym and Andrew.

It was so fun having Natalie and Ryan here! After we picked them up at the airport we headed to the Cherry Cricket for lunch. Burgers are Natalie's favorite so I thought it would be fun to bring them to the place that is voted #1 and has been on "Man vs. Food." The first night we just hung out and played Apples to Apples and had a cocktail or 2 or 3 or... It was a phenominlllallll time! We spent Saturday in the mountains skiing and snowboarding. It was a great day followed by a great sushi dinner!

We spent Sunday in Boulder. We had a great lunch at West End Tavern which is another restaurant that has been on "Man vs. Food" for their wing challenge. We got a bucket of 50 wings between the 4 of us and Ryan and Morgan kept debating whether they thought they could do the 50 wings in 30 minute challenge. I highly doubt they could do it! Natalie and I walked through a couple cute stores while the guys had another beer. It was a fun day!

We had a wonderful weekend with great friends, yummy food and a cocktail or 2 or 3 or........

The following weekend the Conners came to visit! It was a very fun weekend with  a little less drinking then the previous weekend! Thursday night Andrew and Morgan played in the Court of Dreams at the Pepsi Center and then we stayed to watch the Nuggets - Celtics game. It was such a fun night! It was so fun to watch them play on the same court that the Nuggets play on! And my Hubby did REALLY well I might add!

Friday we went to Boulder for lunch. We brought them to the West End Tavern. It's a really cute place with yummy food and it has been on "Man vs Food." After lunch we walked through a couple stores. It was snowing so Kym and I stopped for a coffee of course. It was a cozy kind of day! Later that day the Sola Family came to visit and stay for the night. It was such a fun time! We made dinner and just hung out. It was so fun to have our house full of friends!

We spent Saturday in the mountains. Morgan and Andrew skied and snowboarded. Kym and I went to Vail and had a nice lunch and walked around the shops in the beautiful village. It was a fun day!

And then there was Sunday.... Morgan had been talking about getting another dog for quit some time. He had been looking into rescuing or getting a puppy from a  breeder. So he found a breeder in Colorado that was about an hour away that had 2 male Doodles and 2 male Golden Retrievers ready to be welcomed into a loving family. So, with Andrew's go ahead we were off to LOOK at the puppies. I wasn't quit ready to make the big plung so I was a little reluctant. We made the trek out to the middle of no where, down a long dirt road, to the breeders house. As we were getting out of the car my last words were, "WE ARE ONLY LOOKING! WE ARE NOT TAKING ONE HOME!" But yah right! How do you just go look at adorable little puppies?!?! So once we went back and forth about it for about an hour, the 3 of them talked me into it. So we then narrowed it down to 1 doodle and 1 golden. Of course I fell in love with the Doodle. There's just something about Doodles that melt my heart! But going there Morgan had his heart set on a Golden. So, guess what we ended up with.... the Golden! Our sweet, adorable little Cooper is one lucky little guy! {Thanks Kym and Andrew for helping us pick out our handsome little man!}

We had such a fun-filled weekend with the Conners!!!

Our 1st Set of Visitors

My parents came to visit the weekend of February 10th. We were so excited to have them here to see our new house! They helped us do so much to make our new home really feel like ours!  I am so grateful that my dad is so handy and enjoys doing things to fix and improve things around the  house! And my mom really enjoys doing things around the house too to improve and add special touches. So we started their visit with one of MANY trips to Home Depot to get things we needed to start our projects. Thank goodness its less than a mile away because we were seriously there probably 10 times in the 5 days they were here! My mom and I did a lot of painting! It was so fun to change and add our own colors! My dad and Morgan changed out light fixtures, changed the thermostat (to a digital one of course), added rope light above our cabinets, spray painted a light fixture... So needless to say it was a very busy and productive weekend! We really appreciate all that they did to help us and all that they contributed for everything for our house warming gift! "Thank You Mom & Dad for everything! You're the Best! Luv U lots! xoxo"

The first night they were here we went to a Nuggets game. A live sporting event always makes for a fun evening! My parents had never been to an NBA game before so they really enjoyed it! And Morgan & I always enjoy going to the games! "Go Nuggets!"

Saturday night Peggy and Jack had us over for a wonderful Valentine's dinner! Peggy made a chicken curry dinner that was so delicious! Her whole presentation of the meal and table setting was beautiful! It was such a fun night with great friends!

Another night they were here we brought them to one of our favorite sushi places. We treated them to a nice dinner for all the work that they helped us do! It was a great dinner after a busy day of work. Yummy food and great drinks!

We had a wonderful time with my parenst here! We can't wait for them to come back!
"We love you guys! Thanks again for everything!"

Filling in the Gaps

So... A lot of fun things took place between our wedding in September and signing papers for our house in January. I will fill in the gaps with all our exciting events.

I was so happy to still be in town for our annual Heiser family get together. Since our families continue to grow it makes it hard for us to all get together for the holidays. So a couple years ago my Grandmom Heiser decided to plan a family get together that would be the first weekend of October every year. It is so nice to all be together! I am the only one that lives out of state now so I hope that I will be able to make it back for this event every year! I really cherish this time together and I sure know Grandmom does too!

The weekend of October 9th we went to Oklahoma for the Scuderi wedding. It was fun to go to Oklahoma for their weekend long event! Their wedding was so beautiful! It was very country, which I loved!  It was so fun planning our weddings at the same time. Chelsea and I were always sharing ideas and comparing notes. I look forward to sharing other milestones and creating lots more wonderful memories with the Scuderi's.

I wanted to do something fun with Jake and Jayden before I moved. So my mom and I brought them to Tanaka Farms in Irvine. It is such a fun and entertaining day when I get to be with my adorable nephews. They always keep us laughing! I sure miss these little guys so much!

Just a beautiful fall day in Colorado

We made the long drive home for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to be back and spend the holiday with family. The last couple years the O'Malley's have joined our family for Thanksgiving. It is so nice that we can all be together! It was crazy to think that a year ago Thanksgiving day Morgan proposed to me. That was definitely a Thanksgiving I will never forget!

"Our Engagement" Thanksgiving 2009

So while we were home for Thanksgiving the Conners told us some very exciting news! They were expecting a BABY! We are so very excited for them! It has been so fun watching Kym's belly grow. She looks so adorable! We can't wait to meet "Baby C" in July!!!

Thanksgiving weekend we spent one day in San Diego with Jake and Jayden fishing with Josh and Uncle Joe. It was a really fun day! Josh bought the boys each their own fishing pole. They liked casting the line more than they liked waiting for a fish to bite. My Uncle Joe has all the fishing equipment and loves to fish, so it was so nice that he was able to join us. He had lots of patience with the boys and was so good with trying to teach them how to fish. While we were down there we were also able to have a nice lunch with my Grandmom and Joel. It was such a nice day!

We made the long drive home for Christmas too. This time the drive was a little more treacherous because of the weather. But we made it safe and sound! This time we were back for about 2 weeks. It was so nice to be back and spend time with family and friends. We were back in time to celebrate my 28th birthday with everyone. We had a LRC party at my parents house. It was a lot of fun! We played the final round with $5 bills, and let me just say... it was a VERY exciting round! And to make it even more exciting, Morgan was the big winner!
Christmas Eve was spent at the O'Malley's. We had a very nice dinner and my parents joined us too. There was definitely a certain spark though that was missing. And that was Pat. We were all able to skyp him in China and that was sure fun! But we all missed having him there with us to celebrate the Holidays!
Christmas day was very busy, but a ton of fun! We started the morning off at the O'Malley's for breakfast.  Then our next stop was in San Diego at my Grandmom Heiser's house for lunch. Then off to pick up my Nana to then head to Auntie Kim and Steve's house for dinner. It was a wonderfully fun-filled day! We are so blessed!
The following day we were off to Mammoth with the O'Malley family. This was the 3rd year now that I joined them on this super fun vacation. Each year we have gone it's been quite a fun adventure! There are always fun stories and wonderful memories!

Our New Year's was very low key. After 5 fun filled days in Mammoth all Morgan and I and Molls  wanted to do was just hang out and relax. We went and had a nice dinner at PF Chang's. (Morgan's favorite) Then came back to my house to watch all the New Year's Eve festivities on t.v. We were so tired we could hardly stay up till midnight. We gave each other a New Year's kiss and then we were out like a light! We had a wonderful 2010 and we have started out with a great 2011! We hope that this year continues to be a healthy and prosperous year for us and all of our family and friends!

We ended up staying in CA a couple extra days because of bad weather through the mountains. So of course I was thrilled! I wasn't going to be able to be there for Jayden's 3rd Birthday so my mom and dad and I took the boys to Prehistoric Pets to celebrate with him early. It was such a fun day! The boys just love all those crazy critters! They are so brave and love to hold anything that they were able to. They really wanted to take home a 4 ft. monitor! And they were dead serious! It was so funny! But Yah Right!!!! I don't think so!!!!!

This is the guy they wanted to take home!

January was a very busy month. We made one of the biggest purchases that we will ever make! We bought our first home! It was a very exciting time in our lives! It was so fun signing papers and getting the keys to our new home. We have spent the last couple months getting settled in and adding our own touches to our house. We just love our home and our wonderful neighborhood! We have met some of our neighbors and everyone has been so nice and welcoming! We can't wait to hang out and get to know them once the weather starts warming up!

And then there was Super Bowl!!!! And let me just say this was a huge event for the Green Bay Packer loving O'Malley family! All the games leading up to the BIG game were nail biters, and not only for Morgan but for me too because he would be in the worst mood if they lost! The O'Malley's have a Super Bowl party every year so we flew home for it especially because the Packers were in it. It was a lot of fun! Lots of good food and drinks (and just a very good excuse to come home and be with family & friends!) ! And oh yah... The Packers WON!!!!!

It was our first Valentine's Day as Mr. & Mrs. O'Malley. The last 5 months as newlyweds have been so amazing! I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful, loving, fun guy!
"Morgan, You're the BEST! I love you so much!"
He made filet mignon, creamed spinach, and Fleming's potatoes. It was so yummy!!!!

So... That's all of our fun and exciting events that took place between our wedding and the purchase of our new home! (And then some!)
