Welcome To Our Blog!

I have finally decided to take the time to create a blog. I thought it would be fun to start a journal about our life as the O'Malley's.

It all began on September 18, 2010! We got married at Dove Canyon Country Club and it was the most amazing day ever! From the moment I woke up, to the end of the day when we ended our magical day at the St. Regis! It could not have been a more perfect day! Actually there was one thing missing... Pat in China. (We missed you so much Pat!!!) It was so wonderful to have all our family and friends with us to celebrate this special time in our life! We are so LUCKY in every way possible! We want to thank our wonderful parents for all that they did to make our wedding celebration so amazing! We love you so much!

It was so special to be wearing my mom's wedding dress that she wore 29 years ago!

I just love these little guys!

We were then off to Kauai & Maui for our Honeymoon. We had such a wonderful time! It was just what we needed after the 10 months of planning our "Big Day!" We did lots of relaxing, drinking, eating, and a little sightseeing! We loved lounging by the pool and on the beautiful beaches! (And of course having our fare share of Mai Tais!) It was such a fabulous vacation! We are ready to go back! (Maybe for our 1 year anniversary!)

After our Honeymoon, I had to get busy packing for my big move to Colorado. I was home for about a week before my parents and I (and Molls & Mash) did our drive to Colorado. I am so lucky to have such wonderful parents! They are always so supportive and always there for me! So we rented a uHaul trailer and stuffed it to the gills with all my stuff. (or what my dad would say is "crap" but of course to me its all my prized possessions!) There was seriously not a square inch left to be filled. My dad and Mikey (Morgan's brother) did such a great job trying to get as much stuff in the trailer as possible. And believe it or not there were still things that didn't fit and had to go back to storage. (Sorry Dad!) So the next morning we were off for our long 2 day journey to Colorado. (My new place to call home.) Which I was very excited to be living with Morgan again and to start our life together as a married couple!

After living in the apartment for about a month that Morgan had been living in we decided that we wanted to look for a house to rent. Our dear friend Peggy introduced us to Candace, a friend of hers that is a realtor.  We started looking at places to rent and then started talking about the possibilities of buying. When we worked the numbers and saw what we could get it just totally made sense for us to buy a house. It made me a little nervous at first because I didn't want it to mean that we would be here longer than I thought. I was moving here in thoughts that we would be coming back to California in a couple years. But even with that in mind it still made sense for us to buy. I have to say though, I was very nervous to tell my parents, especially my mom! My dad took it very well. He was so excited for us! He has been wanting me to buy a house for years! My mom actually took it a lot better than I thought she would. She has been very supportive of this whole living in Colorado thing! (Even though my dad informs me there have been lots of tears shed!) She thinks its very good for Morgan and I to be building a strong foundation for our marriage away from it all! I must say, I think it is very good for us too! But I miss everyone so much! (my parents, brother, adorable nephews, family, friends, EA salon...)
So... Candace and I went and looked at several houses. We brought Morgan back to the ones that we liked the most. After about a month and 30 homes we found the "One!" The whole home buying process went so smooth! (Thanks to our wonderful realtor, Candace!) January 14th was closing day and we signed our life away to one of the biggest investments we will ever make! It was such an exciting day! It was so fun to think "This is ours!" We spent the first night in our new house on an air mattress in our family room in front of the fireplace. So romantic! 2 months later we are absolutely loving our new home and our life in Colorado!
